Kaikoura

Kaikoura has a lovely setting on a small peninsula with breathtaking views of the Seaward Kaikoura Range. The view of the mountains, which rise abruptly from the sea to heights of well over 6,561ft (2,000m), is especially beautiful in winter when snow caps the peaks.

The coastal settlement of Kaikoura is situated halfway between Christchurch and Picton on the rugged east coast of the South Island of New Zealand and is overlooked by majestic mountains, which are snow-capped for many months of the year.
